Make It Rain

Dayan Kai and Keith Greeninger have just released a new acoustic E.S.E Recording “Make It Rain”. The project was engineered by renown Grammy nominated Cookie Marenco. Cookie is well known for her work as a producer in the early days of Windham Hill as well as her pristine Jazz recordings. Her use of 2”analog tape, unique microphone placement, tasteful compression and minimal studio effects helped to create the Innovative E.S.E. (Extended Sound Environment) Technology. This gives this disk the warm feeling of being in the room with the two of them. It's a live studio recording and most of it was tracked in one eight hour session with no headphones, and no overdubs.

“”Make it Rain” is a project we've been wanting to do for a while. Set in more of a Duo format it includes material that has become long time fan favorites through out our years of touring together. Most of the songs have never been available on recording. We both contributed a few original songs to the new CD but we've also recorded some of our favorite covers. Songs like Crow on the Cradle, Friend of the Devil and That's What Makes You Strong to name a few. We've included versions of Ruby and Rosie and San Juan Song as well as the acapella version of Arsenal of Doves. Three of the tracks feature our good friends Steve Uccello (Stand up Bass) and Jim Norris (Percussion). The rest of the CD is just the two of us doing what we do. We had a great time making it and we hope you enjoy it as well. Thank you for your continued support.”
